Free information sessions
These sessions are a chance for us to meet, and for you to ask any questions you have about me, hypnosis or hypnotherapy in general. We can talk over your problem and what you want from hypnotherapy.
No hypnosis takes place at these sessions.
Therapy is generally offered on a one-to-one basis, but if you would like to bring a friend or relative with you to an information session, you are welcome to do so.
You will not be put under any pressure to begin therapy following this session. However, if we both feel that you can be helped by hypnotherapy, you will be able to book further appointments.
Therapy Session One
Although I will have a general idea of what you want from hypnotherapy before your first session, much of the time is spent in taking a personal history and identifying your specific goals. You will go into hypnosis during this session, and begin work on solving your problem.
If you have not previously had a free information session we'll include a chance for questions in this first meeting, and you should allow up to two hours for the appointment.
Depending on why you're undertaking hypnotherapy you may be given a free CD to use at home between sessions, or some other homework to do.
Further therapy sessions
We'll begin by talking over how things have improved since the last session, then continue working in hypnosis.
At each session there will be a chance for feedback, and to assess how well you are progressing towards your goals. Most sessions last about an hour.
General FAQs
You do not need to bring anything with you to appointments, unless you wear contact lenses. Unless you can sleep comfortably in your lenses, it's best to remove them for hypnosis, so it is useful to have a container of solution to store them in.
You will feel quite alert enough to drive home or use public transport after the session.
It is not advisable to undergo hypnosis when you are under the influence of alcohol or 'recreational' drugs, so please avoid these for at least 24 hours before your appointment/s.
You should, of course, continue to take any and all medication prescribed by your doctor.
